Neotron Games
This page is made to be an archive of all games made by Neotron Games (or any of it's members). We make these games for fun, and you are free to download them and spread them as much as you like. In most of the games the source-code is included, so you can learn from it, continue work on it or use parts of it in your own projects. All we ask is that you keep the archives downloaded from this page intact, toghether with their read-me's and everything else included. Games will be uploaded in the order they were made, so the further down the page, the older they get.
Have fun while playing our games!
Railroad Rampage is a cross between an arcade game and a strategy game. It is similiar in construction to many "Tower Defence" games, but it has a twist : here, you are part of the action and can affect the game in many different ways more than just building structures. Bandits are trying to rob your train and steal all precious cargo! Thankfully, you are a skilled engineer who can construct many different kinds of turrets and use them to defend your train. You have to make it through 20 waves of relentless enemy assault before you reach your destination, so plan ahead and devise a smart strategy and you may survive!
The Wiz version of Railroad Rampage won first place in the GP32Spain Tower Defence Contest!

In Epic FreeFall you have to fall down to prevent yourself from getting crushed at the top of the screen. Different obstacles bar your way, so you have to be quick in order to find a safe route down before it is too late. This game is all about getting the highest score. There is no end to the level, try to survive as long as possible.
Thanks to Dietmar "Madman" Klein for helping me fix and update the Wiz version. It now works better and has additional features.

Epic Rocks is a classic arcade game where you have to survive in an asteroid field for as long as possible. The game is only about getting the highest score and is designed for quick, fast gameplay. There are six different levels with various hazards to avoid, four different ships to command and a bunch of special weapons to utilize, including the devastating Beam Saber and the experimental Gravity Mine. Also included are a lot of flashy special effects and pumping music.

"Regeringen Kommer - It came from Rosenbad" is a 2D Action-Platformer designed as a homage to classic 16 Bit action games. It also parodies the current Swedish government and is filled with humorous pop-culture references. You play as Emo, who alone must face an invasion from space, armed only with his skills, his cat Mr Muffins and the items he finds during his journey. This is the second demo of Regeringen Kommer, and contains two epic levels, two evil bosses and loads of cut-scenes.

Smallball in Changeland is the first game released by both of us in Neotron under the Neotron logo. It is a fast-paced arcade-game where you have to gather as much points as possible as quickly as possible. It was designed to have that "Just once more"-feeling which turned out quite well. There is also some very catchy music and some cool interactive backgrounds which a screenshot cannot do justice to. (The GP2X-version only has a limited part of them though.) Have a try, it can get quite addictive.

BirdHunt was mostly made as an experiment. I wanted to make a game using the touchscreen of the new GP2X F200, but without such a unit testing turned out to be quite hard so I put it on hold. The mouse-controlled one-level demo works well though, and can be downloaded below. It's not very polished, but might provide some fun. Also, please note that I do not encourage bird-hunting. I was merely trying to re-make a classic NES-game. :)

BeatBox was, once again, made for a compo. This time the GBAX 2007 Coding Competition. It's a rythm-based game where you have to press buttons in beat with music. Since it was designed for the GP2X button layout, it might be hard to play on a keyboard. But you can find such versions here anyway if you want a challenge. :)
Current version : 1.2.
Altitude was also made for a contest, the "GP2X Community Game Contest", where it actually got in fifth place and I won a prize! The mission in Altitude is to get through all obstacle-filled levels while compensating for the gravity which constantly pulls you down. It's a simple concept and is easy to play and hard to master. Also included is a two-player mode.

Vanguard Wars was an entry to the "
GP2X Coding Competition 2006", so it was made specially for the GP2X. It's a simple arcade shooter where you have to survive several onslaughts of enemies, eventually reaching bosses and new levels. There isn't much content in it, but perhaps it can be fun for a while.

Istapp is Swedish and means "Icicle". This game was mostly made as a way to test the programming language "Fenix", but it was also made to be a clone of an old Ti83+ game which was frequently played in school. There isn't much to it, but perhaps you can use the code for learning Fenix, even though it isn't very well organised.
